Half dollar size hail fell about three miles east of Wellington. Numerous tree limbs were also blown down due to wind. However, the hail was more destructive about a mile to the southeast where a cotton field was completely destroyed.

The mesonet located six miles southeast of Wellington measured a wind gust of 59mph behind the stratiform rain shield.

Single wind gust of 58 mph happened at 1115CDT. Several wind gusts above 58 mph occurred do to the sting jet between 0334CDT and 0411CDT with the peak gust being 67 mph at 0353CDT.

Each observation site had dozens of high wind gusts from 58 mph to 78 mph, with the highest concentration of high wind gusts between1130CDT to 1450CDT. Estimated average sustained winds were 45-50 mph during that time.
