An infant died to to heat-related illness at approximately 3:00 PM after being left inside of a hot car in southeast Houston. At the time of the incident, the temperature at KHOU was 100 degrees and the heat index was 108.
An 89-year old man from Houston was found dead of hyperthermia.
Another stretch of warning level heat overspread the area with heat indices near 113 degrees Fahrenheit. There were two heat-related deaths in Houston during this period, both occurring on the 24th.
According to the medical examiner, a 70-year old male died of hyperthermia brought on by excessively hot conditions that occurred across the area throughout the month of June.
