The Abernathy RAWS measured a peak gust of 75 mph.

Falling trees due to ice caused damage at Wolf Haven Int. in Tenino and a large greenhouse south of Olympia. Power infrastructure was also damaged.

About 30,000 people lost power. In Yelm, several trees fell one on a house and one on a shed, and the winds ripped off part of a store's roof. Two homes near Budd Inlet were struck by fallen trees.

A roof was ripped off an apartment building in Centralia. In Lewis county more than 12 homes were seriously damaged or destroyed.

A record high temperature of 99 degrees was set on July 8th at Olympia Airport, breaking the previous record of 95 degrees in 2010.

Light to moderate snow fell across the Southwest Interior late in the day on Feb 25th through the morning hours on Feb 26th. In general, most reports of new snow ranged from 2 inches or less, however, a few reports of 5 inches were reported.

Per NORHSC analysis around 4 to 8 inches of snow fell.

The NOHRSC analysis shows 6 to 12 inches of snow fell in the Willapa Hills.

Willapa Hills has similar snow amounts as the Oregon Coast Range, with NOHRSC showing roughly 3 to 7 inches.

Peak wind gusts occurred at Huckleberry RAWS (HKFW1), 68 mph and Abernathy RAWS (ABNW1), 58 mph.

Flooding in Olympia impacted 3 businesses.

The Abernathy RAWS measured max winds of 42 mph and gust of 68 mph.

The Grays River CoCoRaHS reported 0.25 inch mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Roads were very slick.

A stretch of winter weather affected the Southwest Interior at the beginning of December. On Dec 1, an average of 1-2 inches was reported (highest report of 3.5 inches), on Dec 2 an average of 0.5-1 inch was reported, and an average of 1-3 inches was reported on Dec 3.

Record high temperature of 85 degrees broke the previous record of 72 degrees in 1974.

Upper level ridging lead to record high temperatures being broken at Olympia (76 degrees breaking the record of 73 in 1961).

A record high temperature of 86 was set at Olympia WA Airport on September 26th. This breaks the old record of 83 set in 2016.

The ASOS at the Olympia airport recorded a record max temperature of 96 degrees. This beats the previous record of 94 set in 1981.

A long stretch of hot weather continued to impact the Southwest Interior through the end of the month. Another record high temperature of 99 degrees was set at the Olympia airport the afternoon of July 30th. This broke the previous record of 97 degrees set in 1965.

Unusually hot weather affected the Southwest Interior of Western WA. A record high temperature of 97 degrees was set at the Olympia airport on the afternoon of July 26. This broke the previous record set in 1998 of 96 degrees.

CoCoRaHS reports suggest 5 to 10 inches of total snow fell, as well as a report of 4 to 6 inches of snow in Ryderwood.

Abernathy RAWS measured a max wind of 33 mph with gust of 60 mph.

A Winter Storm brought heavy snow to the Southwest Interior during the last week of December as a modified arctic airmass moved in. An average of 5 to 10 inches was reported after the storm across the area.

The Calamity SNOTEL in the adjacent Cascade foothills received 22 inches, and Saddle Mountain SNOTEL in the N OR Coast Range received 28 inches. It is safe to infer similar totals for the Willapa Hills.
