Rock Springs & Green River storm history

A wind gust of 59 mph occurred along Interstate 80 in Green River.

High wind occurred in portions of the area. The highest wind gust recorded was 72 mph at the I-80 tunnel near Green River. The Peru Hills sensor gusted to 62 mph.

Estimated wind gusts of 50 mph blew down a large tree in Rock Springs which destroyed a shed and caused minor damage to the roof of the theatre building.

Snowfall amounts generally ranged from 6 to 12 inches. The heavy snow led to closure of Interstate 80.
