Blizzard conditions developed late in the morning of the 25th when a front moved over the area, with blizzard conditions persisting into the early morning hours of the 26th. Point Hope had gusts to 61 mph, while Red Dog Dock had gusts to 84 mph.

A four hour period of blizzard conditions developed at Point Hope on the afternoon of the 17th as light snow fell in an area where strong winds had persisted for several days.

The winds gradually increased during the day on the 15th, with the peak wind gust occurring in the early evening. By late evening, the winds began to die down.

Shishmaref reported Unknown Precipitation that transitioned into rain by Thursday evening. Total precipitation was 0.04. The rain froze on cold surfaces.

The event brought 8 inches of snow to the city of Shishmaref. The storm also brought 4 inches of snow to Kivalina and over 6 inches of snow to Point Hope.

The extratropical remnants of Typhoon Merbok brought high winds to the Chukchi Sea Coast beginning on the afternoon and continuing during the day on the 17th. Red Dog Dock saw gusts as high as 67 mph. Elsewhere, Kivalina saw gusts to 46 mph and Point Hope saw gusts to 47 mph.

Kivalina reported gusts as high as 41 mph with visibility less than one quarter mile for over three hours.
