A snowmobiler was killed in an avalanche in the Sheep Falls area east of Palisades Rerervoir.

A snowmobiler was killed in an avalanche near McCoy Creek. The location was in extreme eastern Bonneville County right on the Wyoming border. He was buried under 3 feet of snow and died from injuries sustained in the avalanche.

A snowmobiler died near Palisades Peak in Neely's Cove in Bonneville County due to an avalanche.

The Black Fire began On August 19th and was lightning caused. It was located about 12 miles northwest of Swan Valley in Bonneville County and grew to 770 acres. It was allowed to grow and burn naturally. The fire continued well into September.

The Toponce fire began August 15th due to lightning strikes and burned 265 acres. It was considered 100 percent contained by August 30th. It was located near Chesterfield Reservoir in Caribou County. No damage occurred due to this wildfire.

A wildfire north of Soda Springs near the Monsanto plant grew to 365 acres The fire began August 8th and was controlled and contained late that same night.

The McCammon mesonet site measured a 62 mph wind gust. A 75 foot cottonwood was blown over in McCammon with damage to fence and power line and another tree.
