Heavy rain caused flash flooding in parts of north Jersey County. A 79 year old man was swept off a bridge and killed in his truck when he tried to cross a flooded Sugar Creek.

A total of 6 to 8 inches of snow fell primarily during the morning hours. The snowfall rate reached 1 inch per hour at times.

The combination of temperatures in the upper 90s and high humidity led to heat index values over 105 degrees for several days. The heat index peaked around 109 degrees.

A HAM radio operator reported 60 mph wind gusts and up to 8 inch tree limbs down near Bluebird Lane and Illinois Route 109.

No damage was found but there was a trained spotter report of a brief tornado touchdown approximately nine tenths of a mile west of Kemper, just north of Appletree Road N. The approximate path length is 0.02 miles.

There was extensive tree damage at Pere Marquette State Park. Dozens of trees were blown over or snapped off as well as widespread tree limbs blown down.

Wind chill values dropped to as low as 33 below zero with the coldest values during the nighttime hours.

A period of very hot and extremely humid weather began on Sunday, August 20 and lasted through Friday, August 25. Heat index values climbed to 110 to 120 degrees each day as measured by numerous reporting sites across the region.

Thunderstorm winds blew over a large outside play structure that was anchored. Also, numerous large tree limbs were blown down in the area.

Up to 1.9 of sleet was reported in Jersey County with the highest amount about 1 mile southwest of Jerseyville.

Thunderstorm winds blew down a metal sign and numerous tree limbs on the east side of town along Illinois Route 16.

Several rounds of snow beginning the evening of February 14th. The last round of accumulating snow exited Jersey County by 8 pm on February 15th. Overall, snowfall amounts ranged from 6 to 8 inches.

Between 4 and 6 inches of snow fell across the county over a two day period, though the majority of the snow fell on the 15th.

The Mississippi River at Grafton, IL remained at it's highest levels between the morning of June 2nd and the morning of June 12th. In Grafton, a number of homes and businesses on the west side of Illinois Route 100 were flooded during this event.

Thunderstorm winds blew down a tree onto Illinois Route 111 just southwest of Brighton.

High temperatures were in the mid 90s with heat index values 105 or higher each day.

A damaging microburst caused extensive damage to the Piasa Marina. One large boat dock was destroyed. An unoccupied building sustained moderate roof damage. Several trees were snapped off in an area extending from the marina northward along Lockhaven Road for about half a mile.
