Strong winds of 40 to 50 miles per hour were sustained for several hours. Gusts over 60 mph were common. Widespread damage occurred across the region, from trees being blown down on powerlines to significant structural damage.

A report of 5.5 inches of snow was received from Saint Leon. The CoCoRaHS observer located 3 miles west-northwest of Greendale measured 4.8 inches of snow, while another in Dillsboro measured 4.5 inches.

The observer east of Dillsboro measured 5.5 inches of snow, with much of the county receiving over 5 inches.

Several trees were downed onto power lines along Bielby Road just northwest of Greendale.

The observer west of Aurora measured 11.4 inches of snow.

Several reports across the county fell between 1.2 and 1.4 inches of accumulation. The highest report of 1.4 inches came from the observer located 3 miles west-northwest of Greendale.

Trees and power lines were blown down across the county. A weather station in West Harris measured a 48 mph gust.

Several trees were downed along State Route 1, north of Guilford.

A combination of snow, blowing snow, and bitter wind chills created dangerous conditions for persons traveling and those without sufficient shelter.
