Winter storm oved across the area evening of the 28th, through the overnight hours and exited the region by mid-afternoon on the 29th. Snow reports gathered on the 29th yielded up to around 9.5 inches in Macon county and as much as 10 inches in the surrounding areas.

Max heat indices during the afternoons of August 19th through August 25th, 2023 primarily ranged from the 110 to 120 degree range.

Severe (D2) to Extreme Drought (D3) persisted through the month of August in Macon County.

After another relatively dry month across the area central and northern Missouri saw generally deteriorating drought conditions. By the middle to end of the month almost the entire area was covered in D3 extreme drought conditions.

Due to relatively dry conditions across the area, severe drought was introduced by the US Drought Monitor. At this time there have been minimal to no impact due to this starting and ongoing drought.

Periods of moderate to heavy snow moved through the area during the morning hours on February 17. The highest totals were generally in the 5 to 7 inch range in the far southern portion of the county.

Roughly 6 to 8 inches of snow fell predominantly in the southern portion of Macon County overnight on the 1st, going into the early morning hours on the 2nd of February. More snow moved in a few hours later, but did not appear to contribute significantly to the totals.
