A mix of heavy snow and sleet caused hazardous traveling conditions. Two fatalities were reported on Interstate 90-94 in separate automobile accidents, which were indirectly related to the poor weather conditions.

This brief tornado crossed Interstate 90 and was captured on video. Some corn and small tree branches were damaged.

Ongoing river flooding on the Lemonwier River at New Lisbon that began in June persisted into July where the river crested at 10.81 feet in minor flood stage during the morning hours on July 1st. The river eventually fell below flood stage on July 3rd during the afternoon.

The Yellow River at Necedah entered flood stage during the early morning on April 2nd before rising to a crest of 16.45 feet during the evening hours on the 2nd in minor flood stage. The site returned below flood stage during the early morning hours on April 5th.

Dangerously cold wind chills began on the evening of the 20th and continued through noon on the 21st in Juneau County where values dropped to between 25 to 40 degrees below zero. The coldest observed wind chill in the county was 38 degrees below zero at Volk Field, WI.

Anomalously warm air temperatures and high humidity allowed the maximum heat index to reach between 106 and 111 degrees across Juneau County on August 26th. The heat index reached 107 degrees at the automated weather observation station at Volk Field.
