Plumas storm history

The Plumas County Sheriff's Department reported that a woman was struck by lightning at her home in Portola. She was transported by helicopter to the U.C. Davis Medical Center. She never regained consciousness and died from her injuries on June 11th.

Caltrans District 2 reported a slide along State Route 70 just south of PG and E Rock Powerhouse due to rainfall over a 24 to 48 hour period. The slide was 3 feet in diameter. The road closure lasted approximately 2 hours and the road reopened at 0850 am on September 3, 2023.
