Event narrative
A tornado touched down just west of Keshena at 5:15 PM CDT. The tornado tracked east and snapped and uprooted several trees before dissipating east of Keshena at 5:25 PM CDT. Total path length is estimated to be 7.43 miles long, with a width of 90 yards. Peak wind estimated to be around 90 mph.
Wider weather episode
A line of thunderstorms and a few supercells developed ahead of a warm front Wednesday (7/23) afternoon across central and north-central Wisconsin. The storms eventually developed into a Quasi-Linear Convective System and tracked through the rest of central, east-central, and northeast Wisconsin through the early evening. The strongest storms produced damaging winds and 5 tornadoes.
