A male of unknown age drowned in a rip current at Huguenot Park in Fort George Inlet. Lifeguards also rescued a child from rough surf at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park who was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. High risk of rip currents was observed on this day.
One male drowned due to a rip current. He was trying to save his two young children from the rip current. Witnesses were able to create a human-chain and save the children, but were unable to rescue the victim. The drowning occurred at Huguenot Park.
A male was rescued from a Rip Current at Jacksonville Beach. When he reached the beach, he was in cardiac arrest. Rescuers performed CPR, but the man died later at the hospital.

A rip current fatality occurred at Jacksonville Beach to a 28 yr old male. He was a father of a 6 year old girl and rescued his daughter from the rough surf. Both were taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His daughter survived.
