One inch of ice accumulation from freezing rain was reported at Vaga. Some sleet also occurred. At 10:00 PM on the 26th, a vehicle accident was reported on Interstate 40 near Vega resulting in three fatalities. One quarter inch of ice accumulation was reported at that time.

The mesonet site located 11 miles south of Romero measured multiple wind gusts in excess of 58 mph between 1339 CST and 1526 CST. The peak wind gust was 64mph and this occurred at 1449 CST.

Each observation site had dozens of high wind gusts from 58 mph to 78 mph, with the highest concentration of high wind gusts between 0830CDT to 1330CDT. The estimated average sustained wind speed in that period was 45-50 mph.
