Prolonged light to moderate snow began to accumulate to 4 to 5 across the northern portions of Randall County with accumulations reaching 6 to 7 across the southern portions of the county.

The eastern quarter to third of the county received 5 to 6 of snow outside of Palo Duro Canyon.

Wind gusts fell shy of High Wind criteria in the county. However, sustained winds stayed above 40 mph at multiple ground stations for over 3 hours hours.

Rollover accident at Cemetery Rd and Interstate 27. Ambulance responded and then it also rolled over.

Southern parts of Amarillo and westward fell within the 8 to 12 swath with areas south and southeast only saw 4 to 8.

A landspout occurred in Randall County about six miles northeast of Lake Tanglewood. Location: 35.12N/101.72W. No damage occurred with this landspout.

A couple of mesonet stations located in the county measured multiple wind gusts between 58 and 61 mph during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Sustained winds were in excess of 40 mph at this time as well.

The northern half of the county measured four to six inches of snow, including Amarillo. Further south, amounts were higher around six to eight inches. 6.5 inches of snow was measured near Timbercreek Canyon and the Palisades communities.

Four mesonet stations located in the county measured several wind gusts in excess of 58 mph on the afternoon of the 8th. The mesonet station located in Canyon, TX measured the peak gust of 66 mph at 1433CST.

Sustained winds reached the 40 to 48 mph range for several hours during the late afternoon and early evening on the 8th.

With a dry and hot July and August much of Randall County found itself in Moderate (D1) to Severe (D2) drought going into September. The lack of rainfall across the area during the month kept these drought categories for the area at the end of the month.

Several mesonet stations across the county measured sustained winds exceeding 40 mph between 1440CST and 2220CST.

Several mesonet stations measured wind gusts in excess of 58 mph between 1550CST and 2015CST. The strong winds did do damage to some power lines near Bell and Hillside in southwest Amarillo.

Several reports were made for visibility down to a quarter of a mile or less, especially along the south loop 335 in south Amarillo. Even a AWOS located in the county measured 1/4 mile visibility for a few hours.

An auto wreck occurred on South Loop 335 due to no visibility. This caused much of the highway to shutdown.

The Little Buffalo fire cause was undetermined. There was an estimated 421 acres burned as a result of the fire.

A mesonet station located 3 miles NNE of Umbarger measured a wind gust of 58 mph at 1445 CST. This mesonet also had sustained winds of 40 to 45 mph between 1429 CST and 1607 CST.

Several measurements of snow were reported across the county ranging from 1.5 to 9. These reports came in from the publica and NWS employees as well. The heaviest of the snow was in the northern portions of the county closer to the I-40 corridor.
