Very strong gap winds developed through Windy Pass with the Antler Creek Mesonet (ACRA2) reporting wind gusts over 70 mph during the morning hours as strong southerly flow crossed the Alaska Range. A peak wind gust of 79 mph was recorded at 7:20 AM.

Alaska DOT reported on their 511 site that an Avalanche occurred at mile 219 of the Parks Highway and was blocking traffic in all directions. DOT estimated that at least 6 feet of snow was covering the highway as a result of the avalanche.
