Pelican COOP measured a total of 16.1 inches from snow showers. In addition to the 2.3 inches of snow measured at 8 am on the 2nd of January, between 8 am and 230 pm 7.5 inches had fallen and another 6.8 inches fell between 230 pm and 9 pm.

The coast around Cross Sound got hammered by wind on the night of 10/24 and the morning of 10/25 . Maximum gust at Cape Spencer was 60 KT or 72 mph at 0300 10/25. No measurements were made at Elfin Cove Tide Gauge, and no damage was reported.

Elfin Cove got 6.0 inches of new snow on the morning of 1/29. Visibility was reduced at times to 1/2 mile in blowing snow with gusts to 20 mph. Pelican got 2.6 to 3.0 inches in that event.

No observations for this event were available. NCEP analyses showed extreme surface pressure gradients at the time of the warnings. Gusts would have easily been in excess of 80 MPH near Cross Sound and for the land areas near Pelican and Elfin Cove. There were no damage reports.

Elfin Cove measured 10.5 inches of new snow for 24 hours ending at 1500 AKST on 2/19 and Pelican got 8.3 inches new. Most of this snow fell during the daytime on the 19th. Snow showers were heavy that afternoon with wind to 36 KT at Cape Spencer.
