The Ketchikan area received 5 to 10 inches of snow. COOP north of Ketchikan had rates of 8 inches in 9 hours. Thorne Bay EM estimated 6 inches of snow. Metlakatla Police estimated 8 to 10 inches of snow.

Ketchikan Harbor Marine Exchange sensor measured a peak gust of 77 mph at 252 am on the 26th, but gusts above 60mph occurred between 432 pm on the 25th and 522 am on the 26th. Peak gust measured at the Ketchikan Airport ASOS of 60 mph at 351 am on the 26th.

Gusts 60 to 75 mph were observed in Downtown Ketchikan overnight on 4/21 to 4/22. No damage was reported.

A strong warm front moved onto the southern Panhandle coast during the afternoon of 12/31. There were several observations of southeast wind to 50 mph. Salmon Landing had gusts to 61 mph at 1125 local time. No damage was reported.

Salmon Landing observed gusts to 78 KT on the evening of 12/15, but these are estimated due to the peak wind of the sensor is 78. Other areas around Ketchikan had gusts in the 50 to 60 mph range. No damage was reported.

The wind hit the Ketchikan Area as early as 1530 on 12/10 with Salmon landing observing gusts to 74 mph at that time. Gusts from 55 to 72 mph were measured after that. No damage was reported in the Ketchikan Area.

So, 6.5 inches at Thorne Bay as of 930 pm 2/1 and 3 inches at Kasaan as of 9 pm 2/1. Observed 7.0 inches 24 hour total at Thorne Bay gives a storm total 9.0 inches. DOT on Prince of Wales observed 7 to 9 inches near Thorne Bay and Coffman Cove. Impact was snow removal.

Storm total for the Ketchikan area was 6 to 11 inches new snowfall. News stories were abound. Impact was snow removal on an already deep snowpack. To add to the misery, the snow was heavy and wet with no place to put it.
