RAWS station TT838 Battle Ridge 15 miles ENE of Belgrade measured a 62 mph gust.

The Horse Gulch Fire began July 9th about a half mile north of Canyon Ferry Dam near Helena. The fire was human caused and grew to 15,167 acres before becoming 100% contained on August 14. Fuels involved included timber, brush and cured grasses.

The Horse Gulch fire developed the afternoon of July 9 and quickly spread eastward on the 10th and 11th due to windy conditions. As of July 26, the fire was declared 100% contained.

Two sensors at Bridger bowl provided snowfall estiamtes. The first, Bridger Top, estimated 9.9 inches new snow a the ridge of the Bridger range. The second sensor, Bridger Alpine, estimated 6.4 inches new snow.

Burst of heavy snow resulted in Sacajawea SNOTEL receiving an estimated an event total amount of 8 inches which occurred over only a few hours.

Mesonet station Elk Peak Snotel reported 10 inches of snowfall. 9 inches fell by 5 AM on the 11th.

Snow Squall. The Bozeman Pass mesonet station (mtbzh) reported a peak wind gust of 53 mph. Webcam images showed poor visibility associated with the squall along Interstate 90.

Heavy higher elevation snow resulted in several locations experiencing heavy snow and winter storm conditions. Boulder Mountain, Brackett Creek and Sacajawea all estimated even total snow values of 10 inches.
